Braiding thoughts and hope, imagination and rope, activism and capitalism.
The local, is where we see the global problems. Hvitsten, the Oslo Fjord and globaly. So closely connected. Despite the complexed and troubled situation we are facing, research confirm that it is better to do something practical because doing nothing might leave one in a state of feeling overwhelmed and “loosing hope” – future.
Together with artist Åse Brunborg Lie, artist and curator Tulle Ruth and Cori Ready from the organization Marea, we dive into how we communicate with nature and people. In relation to their practices, they will touch upon topics as engagement, agency and listening.
15.00 Workshop with Marea.
Join us for a hands-on habitat workshop with Marea, a non-profit organization working to revive the Oslo Fjord through marine science, community, and imagination.
We start with a short lecture by a marine biologist who gives insight into the current state of the fjord and Marea's ongoing restoration work. You'll see real photos from our projects and learn more about the ocean we're working to protect.
We bring samples of kelp to explore the fjord's ecosystem, and the youngest can join a fun treasure hunt with a fjord theme.
Then we build a marine habitat together – a structure made to support life such as sea squirts, mussels, and hopefully attract fish, crabs, shrimp and other underwater friends.

17.00 Concert
With Niklas Adam. Niklas is a Danish artist, composer and computer programmer. Since 2013, Adam has worked with performing arts, where the focus in addition to sound has been to develop choreography for electronic sculptures. His installations and performances create situations with an inherently open atmosphere that attempts to break free from our traditional patterns of behavior in listening and immediacy. He has toured in Japan, South Korea, the USA and Europe, and has shown works during Sonic Acts at Stedelijk Museum and at Lydgalleriet in Bergen.
Adam has released music on the record labels BIN, Active Listeners Club and SOFA. Niklas has also started his own label, Ephemeral Observer, where he recently released a beautiful collaborative project with Jennifer Torrence.
